Congratulations! You're almost at the finish line of your educational journey. Dive into our essential resources for your next steps and get ready for your successful graduation.
To successfully complete your Master’s or Doctoral program, you will likely need to write a thesis or dissertation. Below you will find some guidance regarding the forms you will need, deadlines and electronic submission. If you have questions that cannot be found here, please refer to your program mentor and/or advisor. For more information, please contact Courtney Kerr at clkerr01@louisville.edu or (502) 852-6497.
Below is a list of forms you will need to complete your thesis or dissertation.
Thesis/Dissertation Advisory Committee Appointment – This form outlines the faculty that have agreed to be part of your Thesis/Dissertation committee and once completed will be given to your Unit Dean.
Graduate School Embargo Request Form – The graduate embargo form is a formal request to keep a thesis/dissertation unpublished to the public for 6 months. This is most requested when a student is working on getting published in a book or journal.
Electronic Thesis/Dissertation Signature Page – The signature page serves to document signed approval of the thesis/dissertation by all committee members, the department head, college dean, and graduate college dean.
The following deadlines have been set for students to submit the final copy of their Thesis/EdD Capstone Project or Dissertation:
- Summer 2024 – August 9, 2024
- Fall 2024 – November 29, 2024
- Spring 2025 – April 25, 2025
The following guidelines help graduate students and mentors get their theses and dissertations ready, formatted and submitted to the Graduate School. If needed, exceptions might be considered based on scholarly norms; however, your Dissertation/EdD Capstone Project must be submitted to the Graduate School for approval. If submissions don't meet the requirements, they will be sent back to the student or committee chairperson.
Make sure to submit your Dissertation/EdD Capstone Project to the Graduate School for approval.
For more information regarding preparing your thesis and dissertation, please visit Thesis/Dissertation Guidelines.
Once the Thesis, EdD Capstone Project or Dissertation has been reviewed for adherence to the guidelines by the Graduate School, students will receive a memo with instructions advising them how to electronically submit the final copy of the document.
Please note: The details below are offered for students' convenience. The University of Louisville neither endorses nor recommends any of the listed businesses. Students have the liberty to select binderies not mentioned on the list.
