Graduate Admissions & Enrollment Management
The Graduate Admissions and Enrollment Management team manages the overall recruitment and admissions process for prospective and newly admitted graduate students. This includes recruiting new students, admissions counseling, application processing, enrollment management and orientation.
Graduate Admissions and Enrollment Management also provides tailored strategic enrollment resources to academic units, enhancing their ability to attract and retain students while aligning with institutional goals.
Graduate Student Success
The Student Success Team works collaboratively to enhance graduate students' success throughout and beyond their educational journey. By demystifying graduate education, fostering self-advocacy and connecting students to campus and community resources, the team promotes holistic support. Key initiatives include promoting a culture of excellence in mentoring, supporting graduate teaching development, cultivating inclusive excellence, encouraging well-being and resilience, and providing professional and career development.
Through a range of programs, events, and resources, the Student Success Team builds strong relationships with graduate students, faculty, and staff, working daily to make a positive impact. By partnering with various stakeholders and celebrating milestones and accomplishments, the team fosters a thriving and supportive environment for all graduate students at UofL.
Graduate Academic Affairs & Administration
The Graduate School’s Academic Affairs Team assists current and returning students regarding policies and procedures not related to the admissions process. This includes maintaining the University’s online Graduate Catalog for graduate studies and keeping an electronic record of milestones and official transcript information for students.
The Academic Affairs Team also performs degree audits for graduating students, organizes the Doctoral Hooding and Graduation Ceremony, bestows graduate awards such as the Dean’s citations, and oversees the thesis and dissertation submission process.
The Graduate School’s Administration Team works with the Graduate Council to oversee graduate education policies, admissions standards and degree completion requirements for the doctoral and masters programs in the majority of schools and colleges at UofL.
This includes policies governing graduate student research and oversight of graduate assistant funding, stipend levels, awards and fellowships. Members of the administration also serve as advisors to the organizations such as Graduate Student Council and Multicultural Association of Graduate Students and are a resource for Directors of Graduate Studies as well as faculty and staff mentors regarding graduate education.
