Multicultural Association of Graduate Students (MAGS)

The Multicultural Association of Graduate Students (MAGS) is a vibrant and inclusive community dedicated to supporting the academic, social, and professional needs of all graduate students. We provide spaces for students to grow personally and professionally while developing meaningful relationships that last beyond graduation.

MAGS is a recognized student organization that is open to all graduate students who are passionate about community, belonging, and supporting one another through the graduate journey.

Our Mission 

Our mission is to foster relationships between UofL graduate students across academic disciplines, support students as they persist toward graduation, and serve as advocates for graduate students. 

Programs and Events 

MAGS hosts a variety of activities and events throughout the year designed to support student success and strengthen our graduate community.

  • Cultural Celebrations: Celebrate cultural heritage through festivals, food, music, and dance.
  • Workshops and Seminars: Participate in professional development workshops, academic seminars, and skills-building sessions.
  • Social Gatherings: Enjoy social events such as movie nights, potlucks, and outings to build community and friendships. Or connect with peers, faculty, and professionals in informal and formal networking events.
  • Leadership Opportunities: Develop your leadership skills by serving on the executive board, leading a committee, or spearheading a project that matters to you.
  • Advocacy and Outreach: Engage in advocacy efforts to support multicultural initiatives or community service projects in the Louisville community
