Graduate School Emergency Grant Fund
The Graduate School has established emergency funds for current graduate students. This fund, managed through a grant, is designed to help alleviate immediate, unexpected expenses due to circumstances beyond a student's control that cause financial hardships that may endanger a student’s ability to continue enrollment in a graduate program at the University of Louisville. The unexpected expense can be an emergency or an unplanned non-discretionary expense. This funding is not intended to assist with paying tuition bills. Any funding provided will generally be capped at $500. Learn more and apply here.
Dean of Students Emergency Funding
Graduate students are also eligible to apply for emergency funds through the Dean of Students Office. The Louis and Louise W. Weisser Bornwasser Student Emergency Fund was established to assist University of Louisville students who encounter a catastrophic event that would jeopardize their continued education at UofL. These funds are not for routine expenses or as a supplement to funding a student’s education. A catastrophic event must be the cause of the loss of funds to be eligible for student emergency funds. Priority funding goes to students whose tenure at UofL may be at risk because of unexpected expenses.
