The faculty mentor awards are given during the spring semester to an exemplary director of graduate studies and to an outstanding faculty mentor for both doctoral and master’s students. The awards honor faculty who have significantly influenced graduate student experiences at UofL and contributed to those students’ career aspirations.
Nominations may come from faculty or graduate students and are normally due around the first of March.
The completed nomination must include:
- At least one letter from a Chair or DGS and one letter from a graduate student
- A copy of the faculty member’s current curriculum vitae and bio. The bio should be no more than 200 words, and should contain the following in the order listed:
- Year the nominee came to the University of Louisville
- Nominee’s department and responsibilities
- What the nominee did prior to coming to the University of Louisville
- Where the nominee got their degree
