SIGS Graduate Student Ambassadors

The SIGS graduate student ambassador program provides current graduate students an opportunity to become involved in graduate student recruitment and retention efforts, while providing them networking and professional development skills.  SIGS Ambassadors assist with graduate student orientation, visitation day, the doctoral hooding ceremony and many other admissions programs and presentations.

Favorite aspect of studying at UofL: "UofL offers the chance to be a part of a diverse campus and community.  Coming from a small, predominately white community, I have been blown away by the beautiful variety of people.  From different religions, ethnicities, backgrounds and worldviews, I have begun to apprectiate and expand my horizons by reaching out and learning more from all the people I encounter."

Favorite aspect of studying at UofL: "I have had the opportunity to learn under some very knowledgeable and experienced faculty and know the money I am spending to earn my MSSW is work every penny.  I can't place a value on the knowledge and experience that I have gained from attending the Kent School of Social Work.  I love the community and "small town" atmosphere."

Favorite aspect of studying at UofL: "my favorite part is of studying at UofL is the opportunities it has provided me.  Since transferring to the Justice Administration department, I saw what opportunities were present for students to engage in - both socially and academically.   Traveling to three conferences would not be available elsewhere, and my career would not be headed in the direction it is now if if were not for those traveling opportunities."

Favorite aspect of studying at UofL: "I enjoy studying here because I get to live in this amazing community.  Louisville is a very active city and there is always something to do.  When I get stressed with school, I go out to one of the state parks to relax or head downtown to enjoy the views by the riverfront.  Louisville has so much to offer, both academically and recreationally."

Favorite aspect of studying at UofL: "The people and atmosphere are amazing.  My master's program in communication taught me so much about myself and helped to spark interests I never knew existed.  It is incredible to think how much I have grown as a person since being here.  I have been taught concepts that I will need to use in everyday life.  I really enjoy it here and love it."
