Doctoral Hooding and Graduation Ceremony

The Doctoral Hooding and Graduation Ceremony is a very special ceremony held to recognize those students in receipt of an Au.D. (Doctor of Audiology), Ed.D. (Doctor of Education), or Ph.D (Doctor of Philosophy).  Each candidate is announced individually, processes on-stage and is joined by their faculty mentor(s). President Ramsey, Provost Willihnganz, Dean Boehm and the Unit Dean join the candidate and their mentor(s) at center stage for the formal vesting ceremony. President Ramsey confers all doctoral degrees and diplomas are presented during the ceremony.

To be eligible to participate in the Doctoral Hooding and Graduation Ceremony, one must have had their doctoral degree awarded or will complete all requirements to receive their degree in December 2012. A student’s eligibility to participate will be determined by the office of the School of Interdisciplinary and Graduate Studies.

Doctoral candidates and their faculty mentors must order academic apparel by October 31, 2012.  Faculty mentor rental apparel will be paid by the university. Student apparel is custom rental and must be paid by the student at the time of ordering.  Apparel may be ordered from the left menu under Caps and Gowns when the ordering site is activated in late August or early September.  If you are interested in purchasing your apparel, please select  Faculty Apparel Purchase in the left menu.  Purchased apparel must be ordered no later than October 12th to arrive before the ceremony.
